MIND Detox old beliefs and set yourself free.
You may be shocked to know that only 3% of all thought processes are conscious (within our control) and the other 97% are subconscious (buried deep with in our brain) and this is where our beliefs are kept.
Think of your subconscious mind as the Kennard’s storage room of everything, that is currently not in your conscious mind.
So every memory, thought, moment in time and belief that is hanging around in the background.
The mind is a very interesting and complex thing, if you are remotely interested in the human psych you may even find it intriguing.
When you understand how it works it can become your best friend and great things can be achieved.
How do you know when you need to detox an old belief?
When it is holding you back from achieving something you want.
Examples:
- ‘I want to start my own business but I’m not good enough’
- ‘I want to lose weight but I have no will power’
- ‘I will never get the guy of my dreams’
- ‘Success takes years’
- ‘Money only comes to people who work crazy hours’
Back up the truck, let’s clarify and define…
What is a belief?
Beliefs are simply thoughts that you have thought many times; over and over and OVER again.
Repetitive thoughts become your beliefs.
How is a belief formed?
By thinking the same thought over and over again and by giving your attention it to it.
Strong beliefs have more momentum behind them (because you gave them more attention). Weak beliefs have less momentum behind them (because you gave them less attention).
All beliefs can be changed.
It is important to note that any belief is valid and true for the person who created it but not necessarily for others.
Four Steps to change old beliefs that no longer serve you
The first step in changing an old belief is finding it, exploring where you picked it up from – maybe your mum believed it and you just adopted her belief. Consciously recognize that it is not what you want to believe any more
Second step is choose a new thought (which will eventually turn into a belief) one that feels better to you and is more inlign with who you are today and where you are at in life . Tip – when choosing a new thought make sure it “feels” believable to you, so not too big of a jump usually works best
Third step repeatedly think and feel your new thought until it becomes a new belief, you may write it on a piece of paper and affirm it daily if you want faster results
Forth step wait for the evidence to show up, this will come in the form of you feeling better, additional thoughts and experiences that are more inline with your new belief will start showing up in your life. These will confirm and validate your new belief.
Seem too easy to be true? Try it and see what happens.
Happy creating, your new beliefs are only a thought away!
